Position: PSV Shift Engineer

Location: Juliette Way, Purfleet-on-Thames, South Ockendon RM15 4YF

Ensignbus is the multi award bus company running the majority of bus services in Thurrock as well as operating Rail Replacement services, Private Charter services for schools, football teams, and corporate clients and extensive use of heritage vehicles from our depot in Purfleet.  In addition, we are one of the largest second-hand bus dealers in the UK and carry out bespoke conversion and refurbishment work for clients of all kinds.

We are now looking for an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV Shift Engineer to join the busy team at our Ensignbus Depot in Purfleet – PSV mechanical and electrical experience is great however we love to hear from ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other automotive sectors looking for a change. 

Key Details:

• £24.53 per hour
• £ 47,833 per annum
• Shift work (including weekends)
• Early (5AM-1PM) middle (6AM -2PM) late (2PM-10PM)
  

In this hands-on role, you'll keep vehicles running safely and reliably by diagnosing faults, completing mechanical and electrical repairs and replacing parts when needed. You'll carry out scheduled servicing, routine inspections and preventative maintenance, as well as responding to on-road breakdowns and recoveries. You'll also road test vehicles where required and make sure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with regulations and health and safety standards.

What We're Looking For

• Do you have a Level 3 NVQ or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance & repair?
• Do you have experience working on PSV?
• Do you hold a valid UK driving licence?
• An HGV/PSV license would be preferred but not essential
• Do you have a strong attention to detail and a passion for mechanics?
