We are currently seeking an EXPERIENCED PSV/HGV mechanic based in York.

The role is full time (minimum) 40 regular hours per week. Working hours may be flexible to suit the needs of the individual.

We are now looking for an NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified PSV/HGV Mechanic in York – PSV or HGV mechanical experience is great however we love to hear from ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other sectors looking for a change.

Based in our modern, well-equipped workshops in York, the successful applicant will be an experienced commercial vehicle technician with a proven track record of experience in successfully maintaining and repairing vehicles to DVSA MOT standards.

Duties will include all aspects of heavy vehicle maintenance including fault finding and rectification and planned maintenance inspections.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in PSV vehicle maintenance
  • Team player – willingness to work alongside a successful team
  • Flexible – able to adapt to a variety of tasks necessary in the day-to-day operations of a busy workshop environment
  • Good attention to detail – able to work to the very highest standards
  • Ability to work consistently and safely to a high standard of Health & Safety

Preferred but not essential requirements;

  • Do you have a PSV driving licence?
  • Do you have mechanical experience with PSV vehicles?
  • Do you have NVQ/IRTEC accreditations?

Duties will include all aspects of heavy commercial vehicle maintenance including fault finding and rectification and planned maintenance inspections.

A meticulous attention to detail in all areas is absolutely essential, including in the production of all reports on vehicle condition.

NVQ/IRTEC accreditation is an advantage but not essential, successful applicants will have the opportunity to undertake additional training within their role.
