Position: Automotive Electrician

Location: Caledonia Depot, 100 Cathcart Road, G42 7BH

We are now looking for an SVQ/NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualified Auto Electrician to join the busy team at our First Bus Scotstoun Depot – we would love to hear from qualified candidates with great automotive electrical knowledge and any ex-Forces personnel with an engineering apprenticeship qualification, and experienced engineers from other automotive sectors looking for a change.

Nightshift

• £24.07 per hour
• Minimum 37 hours per week
• £ 46,310 per annum
• 4 nights per week (1 weekend in 3)
• 8pm-6am
• £2,000 joining bonus!

Further pay increase scheduled for April 2027.

In this hands-on role, you'll keep vehicles running safely and reliably by diagnosing electrical faults, completing repairs and replacing parts when needed. You'll carry out scheduled electrical testing and any installations, routine inspections and preventative maintenance. You'll also make sure all documentation is completed accurately and in line with regulations and health and safety standards.

What We're Looking For

• A Level 3 NVQ/SVQ or City & Guilds equivalent in vehicle maintenance & repair
• Experience working on HGV or PSV would be beneficial
• A valid UK driving licence
• Strong attention to detail and a passion for mechanics
