Position: Vehicle Service Assistant

Location: Sheffield

Working Hours: 38.5 hours per week, 4 on 4 off, 6am-6pm

Hourly Rate: £15.31 per hour

About the role

We are looking for self-motivated candidates who have a flexible approach to work and are keen to support others. Working as part of the mechanical/engineering team, you will be responsible for the following duties as a Vehicle Service Assistant:

• To carry out minor vehicle repairs to defined quality standards to keep our fleet moving
• Carrying out routine vehicle servicing in line with our standard operating procedures
• To attend on-road vehicle breakdowns and recoveries
• To ensure all parts are booked out from stores using the correct procedure
• To adhere to good housekeeping practices including general tidiness in the workshop and the return of all tools and equipment to their designated place
• Taking part in training and development to grow your skills
• Working with full PPE and overalls provided

About you 

• A basic knowledge of heavy motor vehicles is essential
• A valid UK driving license is essential
• You must be able to work unsupervised or as part of a team
• Possession of a PSV license is desirable but not mandatory
• You must be a UK resident and prove right to work status
