Are you highly organised, people-focused, and passionate about training and recruitment? First Bus London is looking for a Training & Recruitment Coordinator to join our team at Fulwell Garage. In this varied role, you'll play a key part in supporting our high-volume recruitment of bus drivers, from first contact through to training and onboarding.


What You'll Be Doing

You'll coordinate and administer recruitment activities across our regional bases, ensuring a seamless experience for our candidates and supporting them through their training journey via the Garage Life Programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Book candidates for medical tests, preliminary test drives, and DVLA theory tests.

  • Invigilate DVLA theory tests and ensure all pre-employment paperwork is complete (medical forms, RTW, licence checks, etc.).

  • Produce employment contracts and securely manage employee records in line with GDPR.

  • Train and support candidates studying for their theory tests, including delivering classroom sessions.

  • Liaising with Key stakeholders to ensure smooth process for Garage Life programme.
  • Organise daily workloads, manage medical/theory diaries, and ensure compliance with company and legislative requirements.

  • Manage candidate and employee databases, prepare weekly reports, and support ad hoc projects.

  • Organise and run open days and recruitment fairs.

  • Support the recruitment team with screening calls, processing applications, and liaising with training managers and instructors to arrange inductions.


What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks.

  • Is confident communicating with candidates and colleagues, both face-to-face and over the phone.

  • Provides exceptional customer service and enjoys supporting others to succeed.

  • Has strong IT skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and can pick up new systems quickly.

  • Can deliver classroom training or has experience coaching individuals.

  • Is flexible and proactive, with a willingness to work occasional weekends for job fairs and open days.

  • Understands the importance of compliance, data security, and health & safety procedures.
