We are currently looking for a Performance Supervisor to join our Sheffield depot on a full time permanent basis.
Key Responsibilities
- Forward planning on-the-day service requirements through to end-of-day and future days, including covering on the day absence
- Monitor and proactively manage service punctuality and reliability, through the use of systems highlighted in the systems matrices, including live management of services to ensure continuous improvement of service performance.
- Provide support to drivers, giving information and direction in a timely manner Create alternative disruption plans; liaising with and providing information to all relevant colleagues, ensuring the business is informed of planned and non-planned major events effecting operations
- Ensure accurate capture and recording of drivers’ hours, duties and attendance in the DAS GUI system
- Maintain accurate records for all aspects of operational standards and performance
- Live input of lost/additional mileage when dealing with unexpected events (eg breakdowns)
- Analyse and manage information and systems, to proactively to ensure continuous improvement of service performance
- Ensure drivers are allocated the correct vehicle and leave the depot on time
- Deal with telephone queries and support the satisfactory resolution of customer queries
- Ensure a comprehensive hand-over and coordination across shifts
- Manage the collection of cash from depots in line with company procedures
- Ensure processes are in place to identify system and vehicle equipment faults, work closely with appropriate individuals including business system providers to rectify issues within agreed and defined timeframes
- Live input of lost/additional mileage when dealing with unexpected events (eg breakdowns) Ensure depot equipment is logged and maintained and that sufficient levels of stock are available, including: ticket machines, driver equipment, cash machines, and ticket rolls etc.
- Carry out investigations of incidents and prepare reports detailing findings and recommendations
- Work alongside depot operational and engineering team members, fostering excellent working relationships to effectively manage all aspects of on time performance, including vehicle allocation, breakdowns and changeovers and relationships between drivers and Supervisors to ensure a consistent customer experience
- Ensure an effective working relationship with recognised trade union representatives and officials
- Other duties commensurate with the role as may be deemed appropriate by the line manager
Skills/Experience
- Proven experience in transport operations or a similar performance-focused role.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data interpretation for performance improvement.
- Effective communication skills for engaging front-line teams and fostering teamwork.
- Ability to stay calm and effective under pressure, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Customer Focused: Dedicated to delivering consistent service quality.
- Team Collaboration: Able to build rapport with drivers, operations, and engineering teams, creating a unified approach to service excellence.
- Adaptability and Resilience: Ability to manage dynamic environments and maintain performance standards.
