As we embark on an exciting journey to shape the future of transport engineering. Our engineering function is evolving — and we're looking for talented, driven, and passionate Master Technicians to be part of our transformation. As a Master Technician, you'll be the go-to expert for complex diagnostics and repairs across our diverse fleet. No two days will ever be the same — you'll be investigating faults, advising engineering teams, and ensuring our vehicles are running at the highest possible standard.

Your work will make a tangible impact — keeping London moving safely, reliably, and sustainably.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact for in-depth engineering fault-finding and repairs on specific vehicle types.
  • Carry out diagnostic tests on a wide range of company vehicles and equipment.
  • Provide expert technical advice to Engineering Managers and the Technical Team.
  • Compile detailed reports on performance and component failures.
  • Develop strong relationships with engineers, manufacturers, and industry bodies including VOSA, FTA & London Buses.
  • Maintain accurate records and champion the Maximo EAM system.
  • Uphold our high standards for Health & Safety compliance and reporting.
  • Represent the company professionally, keeping the Master Tech Van in top condition.

 

What We're Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Heavy Vehicle Engineering.
  • Proven experience diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Strong understanding of Euro 6 emissions systems (including retrofit).
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
  • Proficient IT skills and familiarity with engineering record systems.
  • Experience in bus/coach or hybrid systems is desirable but not essential.
