We're looking for an experienced and proactive HR Advisor to join our London HR team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This is a brilliant opportunity to make an impact in a large, fast-moving, and people-focused business.

What you'll be doing

No two days are the same! You'll be at the heart of our people operations, supporting managers and employees across multiple depots.

  • Act as a trusted HR partner — advising on everything from employee relations and absence management to performance and conduct.

  • Lead or support investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances, ensuring fairness and compliance every step of the way.

  • Provide guidance on HR policies, employment law, and best practice.

  • Support the full employee lifecycle — onboarding, development, and exits — keeping our processes consistent and engaging.

  • Help shape our culture by driving HR initiatives that improve engagement and operational excellence.

  • Build great relationships with our managers, colleagues, and union partners to deliver real business results.

What we're looking for

We're after someone who's confident, credible, and thrives in a busy environment. You'll need to bring:

  • Previous experience as an HR Advisor or similar in a unionised or operational setting.

  • A solid grasp of UK employment law and HR processes.

  • CIPD Level 3 (or working towards it) — Level 5 would be even better!

  • A can-do attitude with great communication and problem-solving skills.

  • The ability to juggle priorities, stay organised, and deliver under pressure.

  • Willingness to travel between London depots when needed.
