About the Role
As our Engineering Manager, you'll lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technicians, driving operational excellence across vehicle maintenance, reliability, and compliance. You'll ensure our fleet is safe, efficient, and ready to serve thousands of passengers every day — while fostering a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
You'll take ownership of:
- Managing all engineering and maintenance operations at Chiswick depot.
- Leading and developing your engineering team to achieve outstanding performance.
- Overseeing maintenance planning, asset reliability, and lifecycle management.
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety, environmental, and statutory standards.
- Using data and technology to optimise fleet performance and reduce downtime.
- Collaborating with OEMs, contractors, and internal business partners to deliver projects and technical improvements.
What We're Looking For
You'll bring proven leadership experience in an engineering or maintenance environment — ideally within transport, industrial, or other safety-critical sectors.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Evidence of ongoing professional development in engineering or technical management.
- Proven ability to lead and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning, reliability, and asset management.
- Excellent understanding of engineering principles, statutory requirements, and health & safety legislation.
- Skilled in analysing engineering data to drive performance and improvement.
Desirable:
- Qualifications in systems, electrical, or mechanical safety; NEBOSH/IOSH certification.
- Experience managing large or complex asset portfolios or industrial systems.
- Familiarity with digital tools, automation, or sustainability initiatives in engineering.
