About the role

The role of the Changeover Driver is to be responsible for the changing over of vehicles in service to reduce lost mileage and avoid downtime of service routes. It is to assist where appropriate with any fleet movements between depots, also to assist with the fleet maintenance system within the business unit.

Key accountabilities:

• Ensure that vehicle changeovers on service vehicles are conducted as promptly as possible with minimum disruption to passengers.
• Ensure that all engineering repairs and operations carried out, meet legislative compliance, and achieves the required vehicle fleet maintenance standards by the use of best possible work practices.
• Assist the Team Leader and work colleagues to provide serviceable vehicles for the operational requirements of the business unit.
• Ensure that internal and external customers' needs are considered, and all policies and procedures are followed during one's duties.
• To assist, encourage, develop, and train fellow team members to achieve optimum performance and provide a positive guide in their career development.
• Assist in the general housekeeping and maintenance of the depot, as may be required from time to time.
• Assist all members of the engineering team, in respect of vehicle inspection criteria to ensure the required standards are always achieved.

Hourly payrate: £12.86

Working hours p/week: 38

Shift pattern is alternating, must be flexible.

About you 

• Do you hold a PSV Licence ? (essential)
• Must be a UK resident
• Must be comfortable working in a team and at times on an individual basis.
• Must be flexible with working shift patterns to meet fleet requirements.
• Preferably bus industry experience but not essential.
