About the role

The purpose of the vehicle inspector is to ensure the delivery of effective and efficient examination standards within the examination team under their control in accordance with Central Engineering Standard Operating Procedures.

Main Areas of Responsibility:

• Leadership and motivation of the vehicle examination team.
• To carry out maintenance and safety audits.
• To fully comply with all HS & E legislation along with group policies.
• To fully comply with all relevant engineering SOPs.
• To provide guidance to other staff as required.

About you 

• You must have a minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent certification, and on the job working experience.
• You must be aware of the DVSA standards for both the categorisation of defects (spot checks/enforcement) and annual test.
• You must be fully conversant with the safe operations of workshop equipment.
• You must be willing to attend appropriate underpinning training opportunities such as NC in Supervisory Management and Engineering and/or Corporate Membership of IRTE.
• You must hold a clean valid UK drivers licence.
• A PCV licence is advantageous, but not compulsory; we will help you obtain this.
• You must demonstrate a level of flexibility in respect to working hours and job role to ensure that commitments are fulfilled.
