Are you an experienced leader within the transport or logistics industry looking for your next challenge? We're seeking a Traffic Manager to join our team — someone who can motivate, engage, and inspire our drivers to deliver outstanding service every day.
As a key member of the operations management team, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of all platform staff, ensuring our garages run safely, efficiently, and to the highest operational standards. This is a demanding and rewarding role where your leadership will make a real difference.
What You'll Do
- Motivate and engage drivers to maintain company standards in appearance, attendance, conduct, and performance.
 - Manage sickness and absence procedures effectively in line with company policies.
 - Provide advice, guidance, and welfare support to staff, taking proactive steps to assist them where needed.
 - Liaise with Trade Union representatives and collaborate across departments to achieve business goals.
 - Conduct route risk assessments and implement actions to improve safety and reduce collisions.
 - Support the claims and interventions process with Head Office and Company Claim Handlers.
 - Deliver comprehensive induction and probation processes for new employees.
 - Oversee disciplinary and attendance procedures, ensuring fairness and consistency.
 - Manage the exit interview process and ensure all leavers are processed correctly.
 - Support the Operations and Senior Traffic Managers with garage administration and payroll completion.
 - Monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and take proactive action to maintain high standards.
 - Ensure contract compliance and manage regular audits.
 - Coordinate responses to public correspondence and oversee lost property
 - Champion Health & Safety compliance, including reporting accidents and defective equipment.
 
About You
- Proven experience in the bus, transport, or logistics
 - Strong leadership, communication, and organisational
 - Solid understanding of disciplinary and attendance procedures.
 - Budget and KPI awareness with the ability to analyse data for performance improvement.
 - Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and the Windows OS.
 - A good working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation.
 - IOSH or NEBOSH qualification preferred.
