Are you a talented writer with a knack for creating compelling content? Do you have a passion for shaping the future of public transportation? Join the First Bus business development team as a Proposal Writer, where creativity, collaboration, and strategic thinking come together. In this role, you'll work closely with our proposal and solution specialists to develop compelling proposals and create high-quality written content for new business opportunities.
As a Proposal Writer, you will collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and key stakeholders to craft persuasive tender responses, tailoring content to address client needs across areas such as customer experience, sustainability, training and development, and operational excellence.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Collaborate with Proposal Editors and SMEs to draft high-quality written proposals
- Preparation of tender responses, tailoring content to individual client requirements across diverse specialisms including customer experience, sustainability, training and development, and operational experience
- Converting knowledge from operational and technical teams into compelling proposals
- Conducting additional research and data analysis to supplement responses
- Sharing ideas, contributing to improvement projects to raise the quality of First Bus proposals and adhering to project timelines, highlighting any challenges to business development leadership team and SMEs
What We're Looking For:
Essential
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with the ability to distil complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, able to work cross-functionally in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments and adapt to changing priorities.
- Proactive and innovative team player, eager to learn, contribute to team success, and continuously improve performance.
Desirable
- Proven experience in proposal editing, bid writing, or technical editing
- Experience in technical or bid writing; 3+ years' experience in technical or bid writing
- Familiarity with the transport sector, including its challenges and opportunities
