Following our acquisition by First Group, we're strengthening our Procurement function and seeking a Procurement Manager – Generalist to deliver value, efficiency, and innovation across a wide range of indirect spend categories.

The Role

As a key member of our Procurement team, you'll manage sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationships across non-operational goods and services that keep our business moving. From facilities and HR to marketing and professional services, your work will ensure cost-effective and compliant procurement while supporting our Premises, Central Operations, and Corporate departments.

You'll also collaborate with colleagues across First Rail and First Bus to share best practice, leverage spend, and drive value for money across the Group.

What You'll Do

• Lead sourcing strategies for a wide range of indirect categories.
• Manage end-to-end tendering, from specification to supplier selection.
• Build and maintain strong supplier partnerships to ensure service excellence.
• Negotiate and manage contracts with clear KPIs and performance metrics.
• Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders and finance teams to align procurement with business goals.
• Ensure compliance with governance frameworks and promote ethical, sustainable procurement practices.

What We're Looking For

• Degree-qualified in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• CIPS qualification (or working towards) preferred.
• Proven experience in indirect procurement or a similar commercial role.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency in e-tendering tools, P2P systems (e.g. Agresso, SAP), and Microsoft Office.
• A proactive, detail-oriented problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment.
