About the role
We're looking for a passionate, creative, and confident Internal Communications & Engagement Partner to help keep our colleagues in Wales & West inspired, informed, and connected. This is a hands-on, high-energy role where no two days look the same. This is a remote role with frequent travel around the Wales & West region.
From bringing colleague stories to life and simplifying complex messages, to driving engagement campaigns and hosting events, your work will help build a stronger, more unified First Bus. You'll be the voice behind the scenes, helping our teams understand where we're going, why it matters, and how they play a part.
You'll also be part of our national Internal Comms & Events team, giving you the chance to work on exciting UK-wide projects and campaigns that stretch your skills and broaden your impact.

What you'll be doing
- Delivering an engaging internal communications strategy for the Wales & West region
- Creating standout content—from colleague newsletters and recognition stories to event briefs and video scripts
- Organising internal events and conferences that bring people together
- Helping leaders and managers communicate with clarity, purpose, and confidence
- Driving participation in our employee engagement surveys and turning feedback into action
- Using data to uncover insights and spark real change in the colleague experience
- Playing a key role in national campaigns and content creation as part of our wider UK comms team
- Supporting the roll-out of key initiatives like our Everyday Actions and First Bus Basics
What we're looking for
- A natural storyteller and sharp editor, with a talent for making complex things simple
- Experience in internal communications or employee engagement roles
- A confident communicator who's comfortable coaching senior leaders
- Knowledge of digital platforms, intranets, and video content creation
- Able to juggle multiple priorities and keep things moving at pace
- Curious, creative, and always up for trying new things
- Data-literate and outcome-focused, you know how to turn insight into impact
- A positive team player who brings energy and resilience to everything they do
