We have a fantastic opportunity for a Staff Manager to join our Bramley depot on a full-time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will provide support to the Operations Managers and to be responsible for the day-to-day running, enable safe, punctual, reliable and cost-effective delivery of services by managing, yet not limited to, all performance aspects of the driving team and any other depot based Operations staff.
The Day to Day
- Support the Operations Manager in the leadership, motivation, performance, safety, training, development and welfare
- Manage assigned key performance indicators.
- Appraise and improve staff skills and identify any training needs.
- Conduct any disciplinary, grievance or absence management reviews in accordance with Company policy.
- Ensure all drivers are inducted effectively.
- Provide assistance to customers and drivers.
- Provide input to staff planning.
- Ensure that staff welfare issues are dealt with effectively.
- Provide administrative assistance, as and when necessary, and prepare documentation for auditing purposes.
Skills/Experience
- Previous management or supervisory experience (within the bus/transport industry preferred, but not essential).
- Excellent computer skills
- Professional knowledge of Road Traffic Act and Employment legislation
- Ability to lead and inspire people to seek and follow operational best practice.
- Knowledge of employment legislation
- Excellent planning and prioritising skills
- Self motivated with a positive approach to change
