About the role

The main purpose and aim for the changing over of vehicles in service to reduce lost mileage and avoid downtime of service routes. The role is to assist where appropriate with any fleet (bus) movements between depots, as well as to assist with the fleet maintenance system within the business unit.

Working shift pattern: Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 15:00

Key Accountability's:

  • Ensure that vehicle changeovers on service vehicles are conducted as promptly as possible with minimum disruption to passengers.
  • Ensure that all engineering repairs and operations carried out, meet legislative compliance, and achieves the required vehicle fleet maintenance standards by the use of best possible work practices.
  • Assist the Team Leader and work colleagues to provide serviceable vehicles for the operational requirements of the business unit.
  • Ensure that internal and external customers' needs are considered, and all policies and procedures are followed during one's duties.
  • Assist in the general housekeeping and maintenance of the depot, as may be required from time to time.
  • Assist all members of the engineering team, in respect of vehicle inspection criteria to ensure the required standards are always achieved.
  • Any other duties as may be determined from time to time.

About you 

  • You must have a valid UK drivers licence, and hold a current clean PSV licence to drive our buses.
  • You must have a proven ability to prioritise tasks and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Preferably will have bus industry experience.
  • Be comfortable working within a team or an individual basis.
  • You must be a UK resident.
