I drove buses in Australia. I need to convert my Australian drivers license to a UK bus licence
I would like to apply for a trainee bus driver position, I’m a British and Australian citizen, I’ve driven buses in Australia for eight years. I need advice about how to convert my Australian drivers license to a UK driver’s license. Could you please advise me how to. Many thanks Daniel Brabon

Hi Daniel, thanks for the question. In order to convert your Australian licence you will need to contact the DVLA and order a D1 form (these can also be picked up from the post office). You will need to provide proof of your UK residence, your Passport, a passport photo and your Australian licence. You will also need to provide proof that you have passed your Bus licence in a manual bus if you are exchanging for a manual UK bus licence. Once this is complete and the fee is paid you will surrender your Australian licence as part of the exchange process and this will be sent back to Australia. I hope this helps!
